Handmade Paper Lanterns
Saturday, January 12
Bring in the light! During this day long class you will learn how to build a Japanese inspired lantern with a soft glow. We'll build a form with rattan, then apply handmade paper and light fixture wiring. Fee: $165

Paper, Sticks, Form & Light

Friday - Monday, January 18-21
This is a 4-day workshop where students have the opportunity to experience papermaking and sculpture capturing light and shadow. We will use natural materials to create armature then apply your handmade paper to the form. Various medium is available for your use such as sumi ink, kakishibu
and indigo dye.
 $250/deposit


Paper & Sticks: Contemporary Basketry
Saturday, February 2
Late winter is a great time to gather natural fiber for sculpture making. We'll use various types of basketry materials such as rattan, grapevine, tamarisk and paper pulp. Learn lashing techniques to create a beautiful organic vessel form.
Fee: $150

Shaping Space w/ Flax Fiber

Saturday, February 23
at Rio Bravo Fine Art Gallery, Truth or Consequences, NM

During this day long class learn how to create an organic sculptural form inspired by nature with flax (Linum usitatissimum) roving. This is an easy and fun technique with endless possibilities. The dried sculpture can be easily embellished with materials of your choice such as ink, paint or stitching.

Shaping Space with Flax Fiber
Saturday, March 9
During this day long class you will learn how to use flax roving to shape a beautiful fiber bowl, box or collage. This is an easy and fun technique with endless possibilities. The finished dried sculpture can be embellished with materials of your choice such as ink, paint or stitching. Fee: $150

Paper & Sticks: Contemporary Basketry

Tues/Wed, April 16 & 17
Spring into the new year in Santa Fe just in time for Easter fun. During this 2-day workshop we'll use various basketry materials such as rattan, round reed and flax fiber paper along with springtime foraged materials such as willow and chamisa. Learn how to make paper with flax roving and apply your textured paper to the form creating a contemporary basket.
