Hand Papermaking w/ Plants & Weeds

Learn to make beautiful handmade paper using abaca linters with locally foraged plants & weeds. Your paper can be used for book arts, printmaking, watercolor, ink wash and fiber arts. Fee: $135

Shaping Space with Flax Fiber 
Saturday, October 20
During this day long class you will learn how to use flax roving to shape a beautiful fiber bowl, box or collage. This is an easy and fun technique with endless possibilities. The finished dried sculpture can be embellished with materials of your choice such as ink, paint or stitching. Fee: $135

This is a 4-day workshop where students have the opportunity to experience papermaking and sculpture capturing light and shadow. We will use natural materials to create armature then apply your handmade paper to the form. Various medium is available for your use such as sumi ink, kakishibu and indigo dye.

Bring in the light!
During this day long class you will learn how to build a Japanese inspired lantern with a soft glow. We'll build a form with rattan, then apply handmade paper and light fixture wiring.  $155.

Paper + Sticks: Contemporary Basketry

Autumn is a great time to learn how to build a contemporary basket with natural fiber. We'll use various types of basketry materials such as rattan, grapevine, round reed and paper pulp; learn lashing techniques and include foraged local plant fiber. Fee: $135

Paper Pulp Collage

This is a really fun class where you can design collage using poured abaca paper pulp along with inclusions such as plant material, thread and natural dye to add texture and color. Fee: $135
