Handmade Paper Lanterns
During this day long class you will learn how to build a Japanese inspired lantern with a soft glow. We'll build a form with rattan, then apply handmade paper and light fixture wiring. Repeats May 26 and June 16.

Enjoy a fun day making paper with abaca. Learn about paper fiber, sheet formation and seasonal plant inclusions and dye pigments. Your paper can be used for book art, collage, printmaking, ink and watercolor wash.
During this day long class you will learn how to use flax roving to shape a beautiful fiber bowl, box or collage. This is an easy and fun technique with endless possibilities. The finished dried sculpture can be embellish with materials of your choice such as ink, paint or stitching.

Hand Papermaking with Kozo
Join me for a two-day intensive papermaking workshop with kozo fiber (paper mulberry bark). We will transform kozo into strong translucent paper sheets. You'll learn all the steps, from cooking the fiber, to hand beating and sheet formation.

Paper Pulp Collage
This is a really fun class where you can design collage using poured abaca and flax paper pulp along with inclusions such as plant material, thread and natural dye to add texture and color.

Hand Papermaking with Plants & Weeds
Learn to make beautiful handmade paper using bamboo and abaca linters with locally foraged plants & weeds. We’ll experiment with ego-dyeing too. Your paper can be used for book arts, printmaking, watercolor, ink wash and fiber arts.
